What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis for the treatment of a wide variety of conditions and symptoms. The British Medical Association approved hypnotherapy for use in medical treatments in 1955 and it has been widely and very successfully used for many different conditions ever since.
Hypnosis is simply a natural state of relaxation that we all experience during daydreaming or reading a book or sometimes when driving when we realise we haven’t been aware of driving for the last ten minutes. During this state, our conscious mind relaxes and our subconscious mind is more open and receptive to positive suggestion and creative thought. It is our subconscious mind that controls our habits and emotions. In hypnosis we can communicate directly with the subconscious mind which is why it can be so quick and easy to change habits or unwanted behaviours.

Many people feel that in some way they are not in control of their lives, allowing their unwanted habits, fear or lack of confidence to run their lives for them, dictating how they should live and creating feelings of hopelessness.
